Perth Car Care is an independently run, one-stop-shop for your vehicles needs. Run solely by Ian Rankine, Perth Car Care offers bodywork repairs, MOT and regular servicing care for all makes and models of vehicles.
THEIR NEEDS…
The company joined the Castlecroft family in 2013 when Ian made the decision to move from mobile bodywork repair service to a workshop, and took on their first space at Nether Friarton Friarton.
Finding premises when you are in the motor trade can be difficult, as Ian explains:
“The hardest thing isn’t just about choosing the perfect location, it’s about finding a landlord that is happy to have you as a tenant. There’s a perception of the motor trade as an untidy and noisy business. Castlecroft didn’t make assumptions and immediately write me off, but listened, responded and worked with me to find the perfect location for my business needs.”
OUR SOLUTION…
Ian has now moved Perth Car Care to a larger workshop at Riverview Business Park. This new unit has excellent signage and a business frontage that is visible from the roadside. As a result, Ian has seen an increase in customers, especially walk-ins.
The location of Ian’s workshop is also ideal for customers who work in the neighbouring offices to pop their car in to when it’s due a service – no more waiting around to be ferried into town.
With two young children at home in Milnathort, Ian values the short 15 minute commute from home to office, which helps him maintain a healthy work/life balance.
Working alongside a wide range of businesses has also enabled Ian to pick up regular fleet maintenance contracts from his neighbours.
“When we first moved in, the unit was a huge blank space which had been used for storage. I still find random bits of tinsel lurking, so someone’s Christmas decorations were once here! Castlecroft were very flexible in allowing me to create an internal reception and office with the use of partition walls. I’ve also installed a spray booth, a prep room, ramps and all the necessary equipment to deal with vehicle and bodywork repairs. Usually these are minor scratches and dents, but I did once have to replace a bumper and door trims that had been eaten by a horse!”
